This year CACIM is organising Reaching the Real India programme for young people to give them exposure to the realities of India and the dynamics of social change.. The participating students will be sent to different movements for closer interaction with their leaders and activist for the duration of 4 to 8 weeks. The very first day of the programme is reserved for the orientation programme with some of the activists and leaders from the social sector as well as with the other volunteers. A symposium will be held on the last day for the feedback from the volunteers. The remaining days will be spent by volunteers in the field, interacting and engaging with the community as well as with the activists directly involved with the movement. There the participants will also be in engaged in the research, survey, data collection, report writing and organising/assisting in programmes.
All the young people who are interested to be the part of the change are welcomed to apply for the programme. Only 30 out of all the applicants will be selected to join the programme which depends entirely on their application form and interview. So, it is our request to please fill the form with full earnestness, keeping in mind the volunteer might require to spend days in the humble setting of rural areas. The programme will be open from May to July 2018. Interested volunteers can apply anytime as there is no last date. Accommodation and food expenses will be borne by the host organisations (subject to availability) while the travel expenses are expected to be taken care by the candidates themselves.
All the participants are expected to submit a report critically reflecting their involvement and experience of the movement and the overall RRI programme.
